When Raman joined our Literacy & Learning program two years ago, he was reading two grade levels behind. He was quiet, frustrated, and convinced he just wasn't a 'book person.' Today, Raman leads his school's creative writing club and just finished his first short story collection. 'I didn't think reading was for me,' he says. 'Now I can't stop.'

Youth Leadership Academy
Jasmine came to the Youth Leadership Academy shy and unsure of herself. By the end of the semester, she had organized a community clean-up, delivered a speech at city hall, and earned a full scholarship to a summer leadership institute.
